A day you won't forget

The BeltGrind

Will you go right or left? Either way, you'll get loopy.

The
BeltGrind is an annual bicycling odyssey through southern space and time: an adventurous time trial for some, a casual cycling tour of home for others. It's the first two-wheeled community race-and-ride along Atlanta's evolving former railway corridor.

Start (and finish):
The BeltGrind will begin and end at Monday Night Brewing's Garage on the west side of the corridor. Riders will head north or south from there—depending whether they received an odd or even number at registration (if you arrive with a friend you are more than welcome to ride together in the same direction!).

Checkpoints: Along the twenty-mile course there will be four checkpoints where competitive riders are invited to complete challenges in order to earn a badge and continue around the city. But badge-collecting is not obligatory and other riders are welcome to skip that part. Course maps will be distributed prior to the race.

When: March 22th 2020 1pm - 9 p.m., rain or shine.

The BeltGrind is an event rooted in community, awareness, and adventure. Riders will be exposed to unheralded Atlanta communities and the evolving trail bisecting them. It will bear witness to history. Atlanta has doubled-down on the corridor as a symbol of urban redevelopment and the BeltGrind is a nod to that investment: a celebration of the project’s past, present and future. Briars, brambles, sand, kudzu, gravel, mud, railroad ties— BeltGrinders will ride it all before the pavers arrive, over the next few years, to complete one of the country's coolest multi-use trails.

Warning: For those who choose, this
will be a memorable suffer-fest best ridden on a mountain bike from checkpoint to checkpoint. For the rest of us, it will be a non-competitive, fun day with friends.

This Year's Donation!
The BeltGrind will again donate all of its profits to this amazing organization: Bearings Bike Shop
